1st Line Technical Support Engineer

A 1st Line Technical Support Engineer for a leading North East firm requiring a minimum of one years’ experience working within an IT Technical Team.

Job Description

You will be responsible for supporting and maintaining all company employees with problems relating to the IT Infrastructure. Duties are detailed below:

  • Work collaboratively with the companies Managed Service Partner to support and improve the company’s infrastructure and network.
  • Take a lead role in setting up new starters and processing leavers.
  • Complete daily and weekly IT administration tasks accurately.
  • To deliver key technical projects, including moving the company’s infrastructure to a cloud-based environment.
  • Ensure compliance with Information Security Policies including data confidentiality and the operational security of the Information Systems used.
  • ·Involvement in maintaining and improving the companies unified communications infrastructure.
  • ·Work in an advisory capacity alongside other members of the IT Team in providing technical solutions to the customer’s requirements and setting customer expectations.
  • ·Undertake projects on an ad-hoc basis Documentation, policy and procedures production and review.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate should have excellent customer service skills, good problem solving and analytical skills and should possess the relevant experience and attributes outlined below:

  • Minimum one years’ experience working within an IT Technical Team.
  • Proven and relevant working experience in a busy, client-focused organisation.
  • ·Good working knowledge of IT systems and Packages.
  • Adaptable, proactive and have excellent attention to detail.
  • ·Planned, organised and able to effectively work to deadlines.
  • ·Resilience and the resourcefulness to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.

The following is advantageous but not essential:

  • Working knowledge of telephony systems
  • ·Working in a IS027001 accredited environment
  • ·Proven leadership and communication skills
  • ·Demonstrable documentation skills, policies and procedures
