The successful candidate should have experience of working within an accounts department and preferably be working towards, or hold an AAT qualification.

Job Description

You will be responsible for providing an efficient accounts service, ensuring financial records are kept accurate and up to date.

Your duties will include:

  • To assist in the processing and maintenance of day-to-day entries to ensure On-Hire financial records are kept up to date, including bulk imports and ledger postings to both purchase ledger and sales ledger.
  • Check and process sales ledger daily invoicing, transfers, receipts and write off.
  • Check and process purchase ledger invoices, ensure payments to individual terms are met including multiple Bacs runs.
  • Process external contract payments, including account reconciliations to assist in meeting service level agreements.
  • Process weekly and monthly commission payments including preparation of internal and external commission reports and contract summaries.
  • Identify and resolve concluded cases with an aim to closing case files.
  • Ensure the weekly and monthly financial reporting requirements of On-Hire are achieved.
  • Ensure the financial aspects of regulatory compliance of On-Hire are achieved.
  • Assist and provide cover for the financial processing of On Insurance transactions, collections and payments in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provide assistance to case handlers as required relating to financial transactions.
  • Provide assistance to the On-Hire Accounts Manager as required.
  • Any ad hoc or additional duties as deemed fit and appropriate by the Management Team for this post and the associated level of responsibility attached to it.

Person Specification

The successful candidate must commit to upholding the company’s core values, Integrity, Respect, Loyalty and Reliability and ensure that they are demonstrated throughout their working practice. You should also possess the relevant attributes and experience outlined below:

  • IT Literate with advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication and numeracy skills.
  • Experience of working within an Accounts team, in particular, purchase ledger.
  • Solid ledger reconciliation skills and sound knowledge of accounting concepts.
  • Minimum of 5 GCSE’s grades 4 or above (or equivalent) including Maths and English.
  • AAT qualification or working towards (or equivalent experience desirable).
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong team member and used to working as part of a team.
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
