We are recruiting for an IT Infrastructure Engineer with a minimum of 5 years’ experience to join our IT Technical Team. We are looking for a dynamic and commercially minded individual who is passionate about technology, to join our fast-paced IT and Change department. Committed to be part of a new and exciting infrastructure projects you could inspire and support colleagues in this role.

Job Description

You will be responsible for supporting and maintaining all aspects of the groups infrastructure and will have a pivotal role in the development, execution operation and maintenance of current and new operating systems:

  • Work collaboratively with the companies Managed Service Partner to support and improve the company’s infrastructure and network.
  • To be involved in and where necessary project manage on the design, implementation and roll out of new systems/software/networks.
  • To deliver key technical projects, including moving the company’s infrastructure to a cloud-based environment.
  • Ensure compliance with Information Security Policies including data confidentiality and the operational security of the Information Systems used.
  • Involvement in maintaining and improving the companies unified communications infrastructure.
  • Work in an advisory capacity alongside other members of the IT Team in providing technical solutions to the customer’s requirements and setting customer expectations.
  • Undertake projects on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Documentation, policy and procedures production and review.

Person Specification

The successful candidate must commit to upholding the company’s core values, Integrity, Respect, Loyalty and Reliability and ensure that they are demonstrated throughout their working practice. You should also possess the relevant attributes and experience outlined below:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working within an IT Technical Team Experience and knowledge of Microsoft platforms including Windows Server 2016, 2019 Windows 8.1 and Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience and knowledge of Services and applications, including Active Directory, Exchange, SQL Server, Hyper- and Remote Desktop Services.
  • Experience and knowledge of Routers, switches, wireless and firewalls.
  • Enterprise server estates including Blade systems and high-density servers.
  • Enterprise networking including Cisco.
  • Experience and knowledge of cloud computing/services.
  • Good working knowledge of major networking components, network operating systems and basic computer hardware components.
  • Proven and relevant working experience in a busy, client-focused organisation.
  • Adaptable, proactive and have excellent attention to detail.
  • Planned, organised and able to effectively work to deadlines.
  • Resilience and the resourcefulness to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.

The following are advantageous but not essential:

  • Working knowledge of telephony systems.
  • Working in a IS027001 accredited environment.
  • Proven leadership and communication skills.
  • Demonstrable documentation skills, policies and procedures.
