“My sat nav took me to the wrong building – it wasn’t the best start to a new job!”
Ben Marshall, First Response Team (FRT) Assistant Manager – Learning and Development, joined Winns 10 years ago this month and it is safe to assume it has been an upward trajectory since that first day.
Working exclusively in our thriving FRT department, Ben has enjoyed the fact that there are plenty of familiar faces that have been there since day one, with a stable and experienced management team.
When considering why he has extended his stay into a second decade, Ben found an obvious answer.
He said: “It has got to be the people. We have some good characters in the team.
“Winns has always offered plenty of opportunities for progression but it is the people and the way the company treats its staff that encourages you to continue your career with them.
“When I was ill in 2015, and was off for nine months, the support I received from Chris Jones, Chris Birkett, and the other directors was phenomenal and really stood out to me and my family during a difficult time.”
Chris Jones, Winn Group Associate Director and Head of FRT, said: “Ben has been an integral part of the First Response Team over the last 10 years, progressing from Claims Handler to Supervisor, then Team Leader and now Assistant Manager for a team of over 160 staff.
“He is an asset to the business, providing great support to both management and an expanding First Response Team.
