Career Milestone: Ellie Completes Apprenticeship

Ellie West has reached a career milestone at Winn Group after completing her apprenticeship and gaining a distinction, following plenty of hard work.

The Customer Service Advisor, who was eager to thank line manager Karen Dlali for her help and support during the process, is keen to progress in her role at the company and continue on a career upward curve.

She said: “I have previously worked in retail but I chose to do an apprenticeship as I wanted to work in an office environment - I thought it would be good to gain a qualification alongside this.

“I enjoyed the apprenticeship overall as I learned new skills and had regular monthly meetings with my trainer and Karen which I found very useful.

“Karen has been helpful by encouraging me and being supportive with time management and keeping me up to date with what I need to do.

“Sophia (Beggs, Trainee Customer Service Advisor) has inspired me by previously completing the apprenticeship and giving me advice on topics.

“Doing an apprenticeship is a great idea. My advice if you do one is to be patient, be organised and prepare.”

Karen, Deputy Customer Service Manager, said: “Since Ellie started in January 2021, she has been a breath of fresh air and a great asset to the customer service team.

“She has a positive outlook and gets on with the job at hand and has the ability to multitask. She has used her skills to help others in the Customer Service Team.

“Ellie has helped guide other apprenticeship trainees in the right direction to complete their work. Always showing empathy and great listening skills when dealing with calls, she has great time management skills when completing calls, emails, and tasks.”
