Career Progression: Catherine Celebrates Decade at Winns

'}}

Ten years ago, Catherine Walker began her legal career at Winn Solicitors as a Fee Earner.

Fast forward to the present and Catherine now works as a Portal Manager in the Personal Injury Department, highlighting just one of the many career progression pathways on offer at Winn Group.

The company is committed to developing and nurturing the talented individuals we employ, and Catherine is testament to this thanks to her hard work, dedication, and diligence, coupled with our desire to improve our employees and advance their careers.

She said upon reaching this decade milestone: “I have had some fantastic opportunities over the years to learn and develop my skills at Winn Solicitors and I am grateful for all the opportunities I have been given.

“I have really changed from the shy Fee Earner that started 10 years ago. I had never dealt with credit hire or personal injury before coming to Winns and now I oversee cases with medical evidence that can be worth up to £25,000.

“I love a new challenge and I have learnt an awful lot about the business over the last 10 years.

“I still enjoy coming to work every day and the fact you are always encouraged to contribute ideas. No two days are the same and I enjoy dealing with litigation and procedural challenges.”

David Dewar, Winn Group Associate Director and Head of Commercial and Contested Litigation, said: “Not only is she an absolute delight to work with, but Catherine’s 10 years with Winn Solicitors is the perfect example of hard work and dedication being recognised by the Group, leading to upward career trajectory.

“Catherine joined Winns as a Fee Earner in the Vehicle Damage Department, where her efforts and talents resulted in her securing a Training Contract.

“Catherine qualified as a solicitor in August 2015 working within the then Part 7 Department.  Thereafter, she continued to impress and was promoted to Team Leader before transferring to the Portal Department.

“Not one to rest on her laurels, Catherine worked tirelessly, with support from the IT Team, to streamline the Portal claims process. Catherine was responsible for many of the processes that now underpin the efficient progression of Portal claims.

“Upon amalgamation of Part 7, Portal, and Complex Departments, Catherine manages the Portal and is an integral part of the Personal Injury Department senior management team. Amy Graham and I continue to rely upon her skills and experience to deliver the department objectives.”
