Winn Group’s Business 5’s football team has raised over £800 following their latest appearance in the competition.

Taking part in the annual five-a-side event, the team from Winns – made up of Michael Stuart, Phillip Davidson, Jonathan Anderson, Andrew Anderson, Mark Pallas, Joe Foalle, Tom Birkett, and David Phillips – won all four of their group stage games, scoring 14 and conceding just once.

They progressed through the quarter finals with a 3-0 and another clean sheet – earning Michael Stuart the golden glove award for the tournament – but they came up short in the semi-finals, losing 1-0 on penalties after a 0-0 draw in normal time.

The football, though, wasn’t the main aspect of the day as Winn Group took home the top fundraiser's award, with their efforts seeing £800 heading the way of our chosen charity of the year, the Rainbow Trust.
