Our Hadrian’s Wall Trail Challenge proved a big success, with the team raising £3,360 for our chosen charity of the year, the Rainbow Trust.
A dedicated group took on the 26-mile trek, hiking across the Cumbria countryside in the historic footsteps of the famous Romans.
Marking the edge of the Roman empire, it certainly pushed the participants’ boundaries as they battled increasingly hot weather, quickly developing blisters, and the arduous task of covering a marathon distance within 12 hours.
Ross Jackson, Deputy CSR Lead, said: “Everyone who took part in that challenge, completing whatever distance, did a fantastic job.
“The Hadrian's Wall course itself is a very demanding, undulating route, so to not only complete it but do so in under 12 hours is an incredible achievement.
“Better yet, raising thousands for the Rainbow Trust demonstrates our CSR programme in action and shows the difference our team is making for a great cause.
“We’re committed to helping our chosen charity and other causes in our local area, giving back to the community and also helping the next generation in times of need.”
