IT Career: Lauren Earns Promotion

Four years ago, Lauren Swan joined Winn Group as a member of the Post Team on an apprenticeship.

Fast forward to the current day and she is raising a glass to toast her promotion to Group Development Analyst as part of the next step in her IT career.

After learning of the clear career pathways available in the IT Team, and knowing her apprenticeship was coming to an end, Lauren decided to make the switch and hasn’t looked back since.

Now a Development Analyst, her hard work and dedication have been rewarded with a role offering plenty of scope to learn and progress.

She said: “I had finished my apprenticeship on the Post Team and the plan was always to progress to a different team afterwards.

“I felt like the IT Department had lots of opportunities for progression as other members of the Post Team had progressed and done well in this department. The members of IT were always friendly.

“I feel like I have gained a lot of knowledge about the business since I was 16, from my time on both teams.

“Being on the Post Team gave me confidence, with help from Peter Bell, and the chance to get to know the different departments and people in them.

“In IT, I have had the chance to get to know how the company works and how a claim progresses from start to finish by developing the existing processes and implementing new processes as the business grows.”

Michael Kealy, Winn Group Development Manager said: “In the short time that I have managed Lauren she has proved to be a great asset to the team.

“Lauren always shows great passion and commitment to her work, attributes which I am sure will lead to a bright future as a Group Development Analyst. Congratulations Lauren, well deserved!”

Mark Howell, Winn Group Head of IT Operations said: “Lauren has proven to be a great addition to the team and has learnt a lot in two years.

“It is an exciting time to be part of the company as it continues to grow, and Lauren is going to play an important role within the department during this time. Congratulations!”

Clint Milnes, Winn Group CIO said: “It has been great seeing her progress. A livewire in the department, she keeps everyone on their toes.

“She is a real asset and is a great example of progression within the Group and someone who has an exciting career in IT ahead of her.”
