Taking the next step in your career with Winns is sure to be a rewarding one.

With excellent development opportunities and the chance to progress in a forward-thinking and dynamic North East company, we caught up with a few of our new starters who have taken the plunge and are enjoying the benefits of a work life at Winns.

Victoria Askew is one of those people. She took on a role in our Command Centre, as part of the First Response Team at Winns.

Previously a customer service advisor with EDF Energy and Auxillis, Victoria joined Winns to return to an industry she knew well, saying “I regretted moving away from accident management as soon as I left Auxillis for EDF Energy. It was a really good opportunity to get back into the area of work I want to progress in.

“I really like the idea of helping others and being able to progress within a business, and Winns emphasised this within their job descriptions.”

A recent new starter, Victoria is enjoying her time at the company and is keen to progress after taking the next step with Winns.

“I am thoroughly enjoying my role so far,” she continued.

“The training process has been stress-free and I am surrounded by really kind and helpful people. Everyone is so friendly and always willing to help if I have questions.

“I hope to progress once I’ve gained some more experience and would like to learn more about the different areas of business.”

Holly Freeman recently started as a Claims Handler in the First Response Team and chose to take the next step with Winns after researching the benefits of working here.

“Winns seemed like a great company to start my career as there are lots of opportunities to progress,” she said.

“I have enjoyed my time so far in the company; everyone in the team is friendly, welcoming and willing to help. From day one, the training has been very thorough and informative to ensure we know as much as possible.”

Another of our new starters, Yasmin Lucas, is keen to use previous experience to open up further opportunities within Winn Group.

“My most recent role was working for the NHS, however I have five years of experience working at Auxillis which was a similar role,” she said.

“I started as a handler and then moved onto a trainer and finally manager of the Client Charges team. I thought this would be a great opportunity given my previous experience and also the potential to further my career.

“I would eventually like to develop my skills in other areas to get a better understanding of the company as a whole and hopefully a training or managerial role in the future.”
