Sunshine Run Success for Winn Group Staff

One of the largest Winn Group teams ever entered the Sunshine Run on Wednesday night and enjoyed a fantastic night.

Over 30 runners donned Winn Group colours and headed for the Quayside start line to help raise money for the Chronicle Sunshine Fund, a charity that purchases life-enhancing equipment for severely disabled children in the North East.

Andrew Anderson was top runner for Winns, clocking an impressive time of 21 minutes 10 seconds, followed by Joe Rennard-Jacobs. Chelsea Shepherd was first lady home for Winn Group, with a time of 25 minutes 50 seconds, followed by Natasha Tompkins.

Regardless of the outcome, each and every runner had a great time and helped to promote the tremendous work of the Sunshine Fund.

Winn Group CSR Lead Ross Jackson said: “It was fantastic to have 31 runners taking part in the Sunshine Run, the biggest group we’ve entered. It really is an enjoyable evening where you can take part in the race and know you are helping those in need in the process.

“It certainly helps when the sun is out and we are delighted to continue our support for the Sunshine Fund.”
