Ten Years and Counting for Litigation Team’s Liam Davidson

A career at Winn Group isn’t based on the interview, it’s not the first day; it’s the journey of development and job evolution that we take the greatest pride in witnessing in our staff.

Countless employees have arrived through our days and celebrated one, two, five, 10, 15, and even 20-year anniversaries with us.

One of those is Liam Davidson, a Solicitor in our Litigation Team, whom we’ve proudly helped achieve his goals, supporting him professionally and personally through plenty of ups and the occasional difficult moments.

A legal specialist by training, Liam was accepted on our training contract program, qualified with us, and has become an integral part of our in-house Litigation Team.

Adam Thorpe, Associate Director – Head of Litigation, said: “Congratulations to Liam on hitting the 10-year milestone.

“I have worked with him for over six years in the Litigation Team, which has been an absolute pleasure, and in that time he has enjoyed some fantastic successes which he should be proud of so long may that continue!”

What first attracted you to Winns?

I had heard about Winns during my time at university (via sponsorships, student performance-based prizes, and employer networking events).

I knew Winns offered personal injury and credit hire services, and that they weren’t averse to handing out multiple and frequent training contract opportunities.

Even then I knew they were a fairly big operation and very profitable. It was a no brainer really. And I’m a homebird.

How have the company supported you during your career?

I can’t really do justice with words how grateful I am. Winns and its people are fantastic. From joining in July 2014 to obtaining a training contract in 2015, qualifying in 2017, to the present day - the legal exposure has proved a brilliant and steep learning curve.

Looking back, I would never have imagined the opportunities that have come my way, but the best support I could have asked for was there from the start and continues to be today.

That is to be able to work alongside and learn from a vast breadth of professionals who excel at what they do.

Not only that; they have been happy to lend me a hand, or give me five minutes, which really does help you along. I owe a lot to a lot of people here, too many to name, but they know who they are.

What do you like most about working here?

I think this is obvious from my answers above, but it has to be my colleagues, some I am lucky enough to call friends, as well as the opportunities that Winns keep delivering.

What have you made of the company’s progress?

It’s an outstanding achievement but it comes as no surprise to me. To say the Directors and management know what they’re doing is an understatement. Winns has always had a strong reputation but it’s at the next level now and deservedly so.

Long may it continue and I am sure it will under the present leadership.
