Training: Sadie and Beth Start Journey

Sadie Mason-Noble and Beth Quinn are both starting on the next chapter of their legal careers as they begin a training contract at Winn Group.

A core part of our training and development offering for the legal teams, we actively encourage our employees to apply for the training contract programme throughout the year because we want them to evolve and develop with us.

Keen to invest in our staff, Beth and Sadie are the latest to benefit after starting their training contract 24-month cycle at the beginning of November.

Jo Amos, Training Principal at Winns, said: “I am very pleased that Sadie and Beth are about to embark on the last stage before qualifying as solicitors.

“They have both worked hard to reach this point and deserve the opportunity to develop their skills and legal knowledge over the next two years. I wish them luck in what will be a challenging, but hopefully rewarding, 24 months.”

Delighted to be taking this next step with Winns, we caught up with them both to find out more:

Sadie Mason-Noble

How have you reached this point in your career?

I joined Winns in June 2021 as a Legal Clerk in the Vehicle Damage team and I am now a Senior Fee Earner in the department dealing with high value claims. I have really enjoyed my time here so far and my role continues to challenge me.

Are you ready for the training contract part of your career?

I am very grateful to Winns for giving me the opportunity to progress my career and I’m so excited to start the training contract; I couldn’t believe it when I found out I had been successful. I can’t wait to get started! It has always been a career goal to become a solicitor and it’s really nice that my hard work, both here at Winns and while studying at university, has been recognised.

What do you hope to gain from it?

By undertaking work for other departments, I hope I will gain a greater understanding of all areas of the business and continue to develop my skills as a solicitor.

I am particularly looking forward to improving my advocacy skills and building on my knowledge of costs. I would love to take on a solicitor role within the Vehicle Damage department.

Beth Quinn

How has your career progressed at Winns so far?

I started working at Winns at the end of April 2021 and joined the Vehicle Damage team as a Legal Clerk. Earlier this year, I progressed into a Senior Fee Earner role within VD before starting my training contract.

How are you feeling about the next 24 months?

I am very excited to get started with my training contract. I found out I was successful in my application in May 2022, and I have been looking forward to getting started ever since. I am, understandably, a little bit nervous as it’s a new experience for me to undertake but I am ready to take on the challenge. The start of my training contract is one of the biggest milestones in my career to date and I am very grateful to have been given this opportunity.

What do you hope to achieve with Winns?

I hope to continue to develop my skillset as I progress into the role of a solicitor. I am keen to undertake more advocacy which will strengthen my confidence and further advance my skill set. Further, I hope to continue building my caseload with fast track and multi-track files allowing me to bring in bigger recoveries for the firm, month by month. Naturally, the additional work I will undertake will be challenging but it will allow me to hopefully become a more well-rounded solicitor when November 2024 comes!
