National Insurance Sales Manager Mike Brown is set for a well-deserved retirement after 50-plus years in the industry.
Mike has been with Winns for the last six years, continuing his outstanding service within the insurance sector which has spanned over five decades.
Starting out at AA Insurance Services, he spent 20 years there before five at RAC Insurance Services, four years at Willis Corrooen Insurance Brokers and then five at Swire Renshaw. This preceded 10 years with Lexelle before his stint with Winns most recently.
Well thought of by all who have worked with him, Mike has decided to take the next step in his life and enjoy a well-deserved retirement.
He said; “I have reached the grand old age of 70 and had decided some time ago that I wanted to retire on or before this date.
“As you get older you tend to slow down and this business is for younger people really. I will miss the people I have worked with over the years, some of whom are now good friends, and acquiring new business schemes.”
Mike has enjoyed sealing a number of lucrative deals, including bringing Honda Insurance, Mazda Insurance and Sainsbury Home Insurance schemes to his employers at the time.
Chris Birkett, Winn Group Chief Operating Officer, said; “Mike has been instrumental in developing the On Insurance brand and introducing numerous new products to the business.
“It’s a shame he didn’t join us earlier in his career. On Insurance has benefitted hugely as a result of Mike’s in-depth insurance knowledge and multiple contacts in the insurance world. His expertise in this area will be sorely missed.
“We all wish Mike a happy, healthy and long retirement and wish him well.”
Good luck for the future Mike. Everyone at Winn Group wishes you a happy and enjoyable retirement!
