Winn Solicitors has awarded three students from Northumbria University Law School with prestigious prizes for the best performance in Civil Litigation, at the 2015 Academic Congregations and Prize Giving Ceremony 2015.
The ceremony took place at Northumbria Law School, with prizes being awarded to the MLaw and LPC students who received the highest mark in their final Civil Litigation assessment. MLaw student Ria Frances Wilkinson, along with LPC students Alastair Naismith and Adele Jepson won the award.
The students will each receive a cash prize from Winn Solicitors, and the opportunity to undertake a placement at the firm.
Former Northumbria University student Nikita Bos was awarded a work placement with Winn Solicitors in 2012. After undertaking her placement, she joined the firm as a Legal Clerk, before moving to the Low Velocity Impact Team and beginning her training contract with Winns in 2014. Since starting her training contract, she moved on to the Vehicle Damage Department before being promoted to the Litigation Team in January of this year.
Nikita said;
“Congratulations to Adele, Alastair and Ria who won the award this year. As a result of my overall degree results, I was awarded a work placement with Winn Solicitors in 2012. This provided me with an opportunity to gain practical legal experience which ultimately resulted in a full time position as a Legal Clerk. Since the start of my employment with Winn Solicitors, my career has gone from strength to strength. I am currently in the last few months of my training contract, and I am enjoying the challenges that working in the firm’s litigation department brings. The support and supervision from senior members of the Winns team has been fantastic, and I look forward to a long career with the company.”
