Winns Helps Kids be Seen and Stay Safe

Pupils at Byker Primary School are being helped to stay safe on their journey to and from school this winter thanks to a donation of high visibility vests from a local firm of solicitors.

Staff from Byker based Winn Solicitors – which specialises in road accident claims and personal injury – handed out the brightly coloured vests to head teacher Linda Bradley and pupils from the school as part of its work within the community to help reduce the number of accidents on the region’s roads.

Iain Richardson, finance director at Winn Solicitors said

“Darker mornings and evenings, as well as poorer weather conditions at this time of year, can significantly increase the risks of a potential accident. We are keen to ensure that preventative measures are put in place to reduce the possibilities of accidents occurring and everybody is aware of what they can do to stay safe.”

Linda Bradley, head teacher at Byker Primary School added;

“We are delighted to receive these high visibility vests from Winn Solicitors. Not only do they help keep our children safer when they are on their journeys to and from school but they provide us with an excellent opportunity to reinforce the extremely important messages to pupils across all year groups about road safety awareness.”

As part of the initiative, Winn Solicitors has donated 500 high visibility vests to local primary schools in the area. Iain Richardson added;

“As a parent myself, I’m all too aware of the importance of children having a clear understanding of the potential dangers relating to road safety and we are delighted to be able to do something to help towards accident prevention across the North East.”

Winn employs almost 300 people and is a specialist independent solicitors firm which operates a road accident service throughout the UK and is authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulatory Authority. It is also a member of the Motor Accident Solicitors Society (MASS), the Personal Injury Panel (PIP) and the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL).
