Learning and Development Officer

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our HR team as our Group Learning and Development Officer to successfully execute the learning and development strategy for the business.

The ideal candidate will excel by training and developing our employees while leading the creation and implementation of our learning and development initiatives.

Office-based with flexible working hours. Core business working hours are between 11.00 am - 3.00 pm.

Responsibilities

  • As our Learning and Development Officer you will develop and implement the company’s Learning and Development Strategy, coordinating with stakeholders across Winn Group to ensure effectiveness.
  • Create, design, and deliver developmental training requirements for new and existing employees, with an emphasis on effective evaluation methods.
  • Ensure our employees have access to the relevant skills training they need to perform in their role and constantly review and improve the training they require and the tools they need.
  • Implement various learning methods companywide (e.g., coaching, job-shadowing, online training) in line with development plans.
  • Take charge of our training intranet portal, ensuring content is used well and finding suitable courses to expand upon those currently available.
  • Keep current with current thinking on best practice training and methods.
  • Answer training-related queries while providing effective solutions to ensure a high quality service throughout Winn Group.
  • Maintain accurate records of Learning and Development activities and produce reports where required.
  • Perform other duties as may be required, providing a flexible approach to meeting the needs of the business and maintaining a high level of customer service.

Competitive base salary of £39,500 based on 40 hours per week.

25 days holiday allowance, plus bank holidays and an additional birthday holiday too!

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience as a Learning and Development Officer.
  • Experience in producing and implementing Learning and Development strategies appropriate to the employer.
  • Ability to deliver engaging training in a classroom environment.
  • Feel comfortable presenting to large audiences, on a one-to-one basis, and through a variety of media outlets.
  • Ability to plan for projects and training courses, while managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Ability to build rapport with employees and stakeholders.
  • Willingness and ability to work on own initiative and see tasks through to completion.
  • Logical and calm, with the ability to persuade and inspire confidence and credibility.
  • Must be customer-focused with a proactive, flexible attitude.
  • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills with an impeccable level of attention to detail.
