Two rising stars of the North East’s legal sector have successfully qualified as solicitors on a scheme run by their employer Winn Solicitors.

The Newcastle-headquartered accident management specialist is celebrating the successful qualification of Emma Groundwell and Andrew Elves.

The pair, both 26, have completed their training contract at Winn Solicitors and will now continue to develop their careers at the company.

Emma, who lives in Durham, is a graduate of Northumbria University’s Solicitors Exempting degree and has previously worked for the Crown Prosecution Service.

During her training contract at Winn, she has excelled in various roles within the group including in departments covering vehicle damage and personal injury work.

She said;

“The support and encouragement I’ve received from the management team at Winn has been brilliant and I’m now looking forward to further developing as a solicitor with the firm in the coming years.”

Andrew, from Seaham, is also a Northumbria University graduate who has aspired to work in the legal sector from the age of 15. Since joining Winn in 2011, he has worked largely in the group’s personal injury division.

He said;

“Given how tough the graduate job market has been recently, I was delighted to secure a training contract with Winn. I’ve found the work extremely varied and interesting and I’ll continue to work hard to progress with the business in the future.”

Director Dawn Winn said;

“Bringing bright new talent into the business and developing it plays an essential role in maintaining the quality of services we offer. Our solicitor training contracts have proven hugely beneficial to the company in recent years and we will continue to support the career development of the region’s best graduates.”

Alongside the training contracts it offers every year to budding solicitors, Winn currently has around 30 employees taking NVQ Qualifications in Customer Service and Business Administration.
