Winn Group is delighted to show its support for the Bradley Lowery Foundation by signing up for sponsorship as part of the forthcoming celebrity football match.
The event has been created – following a similar game at Everton - after the parents of young Bradley set up a charity foundation in his memory following his tragic passing from Neuroblastoma, a rare form of childhood cancer, at the age of six in 2017.
A keen football fan, the youngster was a mascot for Sunderland – the club he supported – and became firm friends with his hero Jermain Defoe, who played for the Black Cats at the time. He was also able to walk out with the England national team.
These events helped to raise awareness of the rare condition and raise vital funds in the battle to find a cure.
Winn Group has taken on a shirt sponsorship package for this season’s charity match, which will take place at the Stadium of Light on 8th May.
Proceeds will be split between the Bradley Lowery Foundation and the Foundation of Light. It is hoped as many as 30,000 people may be in attendance, with tickets on sale from early February.
Mark Pallas, Winn Group Head of Business Development and Associate Director, said: “We’re delighted to support this incredibly worthy cause.
“The Bradley Lowery Foundation has raised significant funds to help and support families seeking treatment or equipment that’s not available on the NHS.
“Bradley was an inspiration to many people so we are only too happy to support the great work of the Foundation and take on a sponsorship package for the forthcoming charity match - we’re sure it’ll be a great success.”
