Sunshine Run Success for Winn Group Team!

One of the largest corporate teams at the Sunshine Run 2025, Winn Group once again took the Quayside by storm!

With 38 runners on the start line, Winn Group was well represented in the annual charity 5km run, which raises money for the Sunshine Fund, a regional charity that supports young people with disabilities by providing life-changing equipment not available on the NHS.

Team Winns raised a fantastic £3,097 for the cause.

The race itself was keenly contested, with a warm evening and a cool breeze helping push the runners on to some quick times.

Matthew Jensen (19mins 58secs) was the first Winns male home, finishing 7th overall. He was followed by Andy Carruthers (20mins 40secs) in 11th, with Connor McNicholas (21mins 31secs) rounding off the top three Winns men when finishing 14th overall.

Alex Russell was the number one Winns woman with a time of 25mins 10secs as she secured the 18th fastest female spot, ahead of Maisey Charters (25mins 19secs) in 20th in this section, who in turn was ahead of Phoebe Plumbridge (27mins 50secs), who was 36th fastest female.

Ross Jackson, CSR Deputy Lead, said: "Always a well-supported event, we were delighted to see so many Winn Group staff turn out for this one.

"Although the race is the event, the fundraising is the main element, so it is great to see the collective effort from our team go past the £3,000 mark.

"As part of an active CSR programme and a nod of recognition to our roots, we continue to support North East good causes wherever possible."
