Aspiring Solicitors Take One Step Closer

Four aspiring solicitors have taken the next step in their Winn Group careers with the announcement of our latest training contract offers.

Winns is proud to invest in the training and development of its employees, supporting countless young trainees through the process of becoming a fully qualified solicitor.

Next to undertake the two-year training contract is Olivia Coxall, Charles Pattinson, Brandon Macdonald, and Neve Flowers.

They’ve all been successful following a highly competitive selection process, with only internal candidates eligible to apply, and will now take on a number of different seats across differing strands of the business.

Olivia, currently part of our Vehicle Damage Post-Litigation Team, knew she was ready for the next step in her career, commenting: “I have always wanted to be a solicitor, and after working at Winns for almost three years, I felt it was the right next step for me.

“Over the last three years, I have gained a lot of knowledge, and my confidence has grown massively through the support of my supervisors and colleagues.

“I expect to face a lot of new challenges, but I’m excited.”

Charles, also based in VD Post-Lit, celebrated with fellow trainee and housemate Brandon and is looking forward to two hard but rewarding years ahead. He said: “I’ve been provided with some great hands-on opportunities to learn in my time so far at Winns. I find learning in a hands-on environment to be much more beneficial to my learning.

“The lessons learnt from these experiences really increased confidence in my knowledge of Credit Hire litigation and my ability to satisfy the requirements for a training contract with Winns.

“I expect some challenging moments and some difficult lessons to be learnt, but I am excited to take them on. I’m excited for my seats with other departments, to see how those departments operate in more depth.”

Neve, based in the Personal Injury Team, is keen to expand her skillset over the next 24 months. She said: “I applied for a training contract because I have worked here for two years and felt I was ready to further my career by becoming qualified.

“For the next two years, I expect to expand my knowledge in different areas of the business and gain experience with more complex matters to further my career upon qualification.”

Brandon is aware of the challenges that lie ahead but is ready to meet them head-on in his bid to achieve fully qualified status. He said: “I was coming up to my two-year mark in June 2025, and I felt as if it was the clear next step in progressing my legal career within Winns.

“My Team Leader, Jenny Banfi, and my Senior Supervisor, Natalie Hall, have been a massive aid throughout the process in pushing me to apply and further my career.

“I expect it will be a very challenging but informative two years. I expect it to test me and improve my knowledge and capabilities.”

Speaking of the quartet’s achievements to date, Training Principal Jo Amos was pleased to welcome four new candidates into the process.

She said: “Training contracts continue to be very important to Winns and in our approach to staff.

“By offering these opportunities to develop, learn, and qualify as solicitors, we are investing in the most important part of the company - the people.

“All four of them have worked hard and deserve to be given this opportunity; I am sure that they will make the most of it over the next two years.”
