Congratulations are in order after Chelsey Carr and Lucy Dinning completed their training contracts at Winn Group.

The legal duo have now been accepted onto the Solicitors Roll as fully qualified solicitors.

After two years of hard work, learning, and development across a range of departments within Winn Group, Chelsea and Lucy have accepted positions at Winns to extend their careers.

Catherine Walker, Head of the Personal Injury Department, said: “Chelsey has come such a long way since I began managing OIC in 2023. Throughout that time, she has consistently demonstrated dedication, hard work and a conscientious approach to everything she does.

“She is never afraid to take ownership, think through challenges and find practical solutions to problems.

“Over the past few years, Chelsey has developed tremendously, both professionally and personally, and it has been fantastic to watch her confidence, knowledge and capability grow. Her qualification is thoroughly deserved and is a reflection of the commitment and effort she has invested in her career.

“I am incredibly proud to see her achieve this milestone and qualify as a Solicitor. All of her hard work has truly paid off, and I have no doubt she has a very bright future ahead of her.

“Congratulations, Chelsey. This is a fantastic achievement and one you should be extremely proud of.”

Speaking of her achievement, Chelsey noted that although a difficult road to navigate, the benefits to her career far outweighed the tough moments.

She said: “Spending time in different seats has given me a much better understanding of how the business operates as a whole and how the different departments work together.

“You learn a lot of the theory at university and then get the opportunity to apply that knowledge in your day-to-day work. It's definitely helped me build my skills.

“It has made me a lot more confident and independent in my job role. It is very surreal, but I am excited to be qualifying as a solicitor and proud of what I've achieved.”

Rebecca Colby, Associate Director and Head of VD Post Lit, said of Lucy’s achievement: “Congratulations to Lucy on qualifying as a solicitor. This is a significant milestone, and she should be very proud of her hard work and what she has achieved.

“We are delighted that she has accepted a role as a solicitor within the Vehicle Damage Post Litigation team and look forward to working with her to develop her skills and knowledge further - Well done!”

Lucy took a great deal of satisfaction in a job well done as she reached this significant milestone in her legal career.

She said: “It was rewarding to see how far I'd come, and qualifying felt like the beginning of an exciting new chapter in my career.

“I began my legal career in vehicle damage after I graduated from university in 2023 and am very proud that I am going to be a qualified Solicitor only 3 years post-graduation. I have progressed from a junior fee earner to a senior fee earner / trainee solicitor, so I am very excited to start my new role as a Solicitor in the vehicle damage post litigation department.

“Although it was both enjoyable and challenging at times, I’d encourage those doing it to ask questions and take every opportunity to learn and develop new skills.

“Ensure you are organised to make sure you can manage your own workload and take on the additional responsibilities and studies which come as part of the training contract.

“It has helped me develop my legal knowledge, communication skills, and confidence in managing my own workload whilst taking on additional responsibilities.”
