Simon Staton recently celebrated 15 years at Winns, the experienced solicitor displaying the career growth, development, and aspirations that are synonymous with Winn Group.

The experienced solicitor, who began with us in 2008, has flourished and has repaid that faith with outstanding results for clients as part of the Serious and Technical Claims Team that deals with some of the most complex cases.

He said: “My biggest settlement was concluded in 2016 when I settled a head injury claim for £3.1 million, which was heavily contested on the question of the claimant’s lack of capacity and anticipated earnings. 

“The satisfaction of helping clients who have had their lives affected by a serious injury is the reason I wanted to specialise in personal injury work.

“It is hugely satisfying to know that I have had a role in ensuring clients have received optimum rehabilitation as well as a financial package that secures their future.”

A keen cyclist, Simon has been part of the company’s exponential growth in recent years, something he has been proud to contribute to.

He continued: “Winns has grown at a phenomenal pace since I joined; there is a constant drive for innovation and growth that has served the company well over the years. The company seems well-positioned to continue its growth - it is exciting to be part of such a successful firm.

“I enjoy the informal team atmosphere which enables everyone to share their different experience. If someone has a problem, we'll often talk it through with colleagues.

I also love being able to cycle to and from work through Jesmond Dene!”
