Philip Qualifies as a Costs Lawyer

Congratulations are in order, as Philip Aspin has completed a three-year ACL course to become a qualified costs lawyer.

Phil now has rights of audience in court, the right to conduct costs litigation based on statute and common law, and has powers over budgets and the drafting of bills. With these new capabilities comes greater responsibility for Philip, who is looking forward to new challenges.

“What's exciting for me, is the possibilities that the ACL accreditation opens up. My next step could be absolutely anything,” Philip enthuses.

“The scope to focus on new research, and the ability to act for the department is something that I've been working really hard towards. I'm very grateful to Winns for sponsoring me through the course, and to my team for supporting me throughout the assessments and exams.”

Having worked within the costs team for two years following his law degree, the choice to support Philip through his ACL course was a simple one to make. We're sure that Philip's increased skillset will be invaluable to the costs department, as he gets further involved with mentoring and advocacy.

Associate Director, Michael Warmington added;

“We have been more than happy to support Phil throughout his ACL training and are delighted that he has been so successful. He has worked incredibly hard and has certainly deserved this success.”

Well done, Phil!
