The weather failed to dampen spirits as the Management Team triumphed in the annual Winn Group charity football match for a second year running.
Hosted by Washington FC, the night took on a slightly different format with two semi-finals fought out by four teams, before a final match to decide who would take home the trophy.
But the biggest winners, by far, were our chosen charity of the year, Tiny Lives, with £3,547 donated to the cause by players and supporters.
On the pitch, three staff teams battled it out to earn a spot in the final. Two fiercely competitive semi-finals ended with the Grey Staff Team progressing to face the Management Team after they also won their first game.
A close contest saw the managers take a 2-0 lead before half-time. The staff team reduced the deficit just after the break but the advantage would be extended to 3-1 before the final whistle.
Ross Jackson, CSR Deputy Lead, said: “Although the event takes plenty of planning and work to pull it all together, we always look out for the final donated total as the true indicator of success.
“Every penny counts to Tiny Lives and their representative on the night, Louise Carroll, was absolutely delighted to receive that amount, which will go toward helping them continue their important work.
“Thank you to everyone who contributed before, during, and after the event. Together, we’re making a real difference.”
