Winn Group’s Ukraine Appeal has come to an end with a fantastic total of nearly £2,000 being donated to help those in dire need.

Staff across the company came together to take part in a number of activities that raised money for the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), a charity that provides food, water, shelter, and healthcare to refugees and displaced families because of the war in Ukraine.

A total of £1,929.97 has been sent to the DEC after staff conducted an ‘exercise to Kyiv’ campaign whereby they walked, ran, jogged, or cycled the distance from Newcastle to Kyiv which equates to a whopping 1,780 miles!

They donated to a pizza afternoon held across our three sites, with a Day Off Raffle also topping up the donation pot too.

Winn Group CSR Lead Ross Jackson said: “To see the staff coming together and really getting involved in a charity initiative like our Ukraine Appeal was fantastic.

“The war in Ukraine is horrific to witness and we must do our bit to help in any way we can. The unfolding humanitarian crisis is truly shocking so every penny counts in our fundraising.

“Winn Group is happy to provide this donation as part of our ongoing CSR activities, which support international, national, and regional causes.”
