Winn Group is pleased to announce that the Rainbow Trust is our chosen charity for Financial Year 2026.
Employees from across Winns were encouraged to have their say and cast their vote from a list of potential charity selections, all with the common theme of supporting disadvantaged children in the North East.
Receiving a decisive 40% of the vote, the charity we’ll be supporting in Financial Year 2026 is the Rainbow Trust.
This charity is a leading organisation providing practical and emotional support to families who have a child with life threatening or terminal illness.

After donating over £22,000 to our previous charity – Tiny Lives – we will be looking to raise funds this year through a variety of events, including a charity football match, summer CSR event, and our annual quiz night.
Katherine Burgess, Rainbow Trust Corporate and Community Fundraising Manager, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have been chosen as Winn Group’s next charity partner and wanted to say a huge thank you to the team for taking the time to learn more about the support that we offer to families caring for a seriously ill child.
“Rainbow Trust does not receive any government funding, and so we simply cannot provide our free service without the support from the communities where our care teams are based.
“Our North East care team covers Northumberland, Tyne & Wear, County Durham all the way down to Middlesborough.
“We are really excited to be working with Winn Group to help ensure families caring for a seriously ill child can continue to receive the crucial support they so desperately need.”
Ross Jackson, Winn Group CSR Deputy Lead, said: “At the start of a new financial year, Winns seeks out a new charity partner.
“Based on the criteria of supporting disadvantaged children in the region and providing tangible support to the next generation, we shortlisted six possible options.
“We’re delighted to see staff having their say and choosing a great cause in the Rainbow Trust, who we will fundraise for by hosting events throughout the year.
“We’d love to see you take part so please keep an eye out for forthcoming events.”
Thank you to the CSR Committee for their continued efforts in raising awareness and helping co-ordinate events across the Winns calendar: Marta Fernandez Varona, Alex Russell, Chelsea White, Chloe McCall, Elysia Smith, Maisey Charters, Mark Pallas, Stacey McLean.
