Winn Group is proud that apprentices make up 10% of its workforce, with 40 apprentices currently working in a wide variety of roles including as Administrators, Claims Handlers, Customer Service Advisors, Legal Assistants, and Team Leaders.
One of our Apprentice Customer Service Advisors, Natalie, told us why she chose a Winns apprenticeship and why it was a good choice. This is what she had to say:
When did you start your apprenticeship with Winn Group?
I started in October 2019.
What did you do before you joined?
I was studying Law, Sociology and Psychology A-levels in sixth form and was also waitressing part-time.
Why did you choose to do an apprenticeship?
I didn’t quite fancy university, but also didn’t want a job without career progression, so decided an apprenticeship would give me more opportunities than a standard full-time job.
Why did you choose to do your apprenticeship at Winn Group?
I chose to do my apprenticeship with Winn Group as it was relevant to my A-levels, particularly Law. I didn’t want to start something I had no idea about, so this was a great natural next step.
What do you enjoy about your apprenticeship with Winn Group?
The best thing about my apprenticeship is that my colleagues are lovely and have made me feel very welcome. This has made moving on from sixth form to an office environment much easier.
What would you like to do in the future?
In the future, I would like to work in one of the larger teams in the business once I have completed my Customer Service Advisor apprenticeship in my current team. There are lots of different possible ways to progress within Winn Group which is great.
Natalie's manager, Scott Matfin, showed Winns appreciation for her work saying,
"Natalie fits into the team well with her strong sense of what the right thing to do is in work-related scenarios whether dealing with colleagues or clients. She represents the Winns core value of Integrity particularly well."
