Winn Group is delighted to make a four-figure donation to its chosen charity of the year, People’s Kitchen.

A transfer of £1,000 was made to the great team at the Newcastle-based homeless shelter, which provides meals and a safe space for those living on the streets of the city.

The money donated will provide 200 hot meals for this vulnerable community, with one of the volunteers involved in the cause, Maureen Armstrong, thankful for the donation from Winn Group and its staff.

“The People’s Kitchen would like to thank Winn Group for this donation,” she said.

“Just to put it into context, this £1,000 will help us to create 200 meals and will feed our friends tonight so thank you very much.

“We now feed, on average, about 250 people a night. Before the pandemic, we were probably feeding around 120 so it has more than doubled the amount of food we have given out.

“Donators like yourselves are invaluable to us.”
