We are looking for a detailed oriented individual to join our Advocacy Team as a Legal Assistant.

Responsibilities

  • ·Manage and coordinate the advocates’ court and tribunal diaries to ensure effective coverage.
  • Allocate work to advocates based on internal guidelines, availability, and client requirements.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between advocates, internal departments, and external counsel & solicitors.
  • Arrange travel, accommodation, and other logistics for advocates where required.
  • Ensure advocates are fully briefed with papers, instructions, and supporting materials well in.

Working Hours

This role is full-time, based on 37.5 hours per week. The working pattern for this role is Monday to Friday, 8.30 am to 5.00 pm.


We are also fully office-based in Byker, Newcastle.

About You

To succeed in this role, we're looking for someone who brings a blend of must-have skills and experiences, along with those extra special qualities that can really make a difference to our team and business.

Skills and Experience

  • Understanding of procedure and legal framework for serious injury claims, to include those involving motorcyclist, bicycle riders and pedestrians.
  • Experience and understanding of Part 7 litigation process.
  • Experience and understanding of PI Portal/Part 8 process.
  • Experience of working towards deadlines and performance objectives.
  • High level of organisational skills and ability to move quickly from case to case.
  • Demonstrate effective communication and good interpersonal skills.
  • IT literate.
  • Commitment to own personal development.
