The Winns team has grown once more, with three of our training contract recipients qualifying to become fully-fledged solicitors.

Ashleigh Finlinson, Nicole Gavaghan, and Joseph Timlin have each worked at Winns for over three years, with roles in the Portal and Part 7 teams. Now though, they are getting ready to start the next phase of their career with Winns as our newest solicitors.

All three of the newly qualified solicitors started their training back in February 2017, completing the course earlier this month.

Nicole Gavaghan, who has been reviewing medical evidence in the Portal team, has relished the chance to grow within the legal field;

“After studying law for many years, it’s a real achievement to have completed my training contract,” said Nicole. “The training contract was challenging and rewarding, and now I'm looking forward to starting a new chapter in my career.”

The itch to get started is also being felt by Joseph, who has been serving as a paralegal in the Part 7 team;

“I'm really looking forward to getting stuck into my new job and establishing myself as a strong member of the team,” adding;

“Everyone I've worked with has been great so I'd like to thank them for being so supportive.”

Another member of the portal team, and a graduate of Northumbria University's Mlaw exempting course, Ashleigh Finlinson, first came to Winns without any legal experience, and it has been a pleasure to see her confidence and ability increase.

“At the moment it has not sunk in that I am due to qualify, it all feels very surreal,” says Ashleigh.

“Nothing really prepares you for the end result, you work so hard to get where you want to be and then when you get there it almost seems hard to believe.

“I would love to work on cases that are not straightforward and are challenging in nature, so I think working with the EL/PL claims team, or Part 7, would really widen my knowledge and experience. I had no legal experience when I first began at Winns other than my volunteer work, so I really feel that I've grown over the years.

“I've met some amazing people during my time here and I can’t wait to see what my future holds.”

We're excited to see our three new solicitors in action, and we're sure they will be a huge help to Winns clients for many years to come.
