Peter Bell Celebrates 15 Years at Winns!

“There are too many people to mention, and it would end up like a Gwyneth Paltrow Oscars speech! But a massive thank you to everyone who has helped and supported me, and been there for me, in my 15 years.”

Peter Bell, Group Health and Safety and Facilities Officer, summed it up pretty well when receiving his gifts and champagne to mark a decade-and-a-half at Winn Group.

A tremendous achievement, the former Post Team Leader pivoted his career path during Covid times, resulting in a different role that encompassed much more.

“My job role changed during and after the pandemic; it was a crazy time, as most staff got furloughed or worked from home. I was in the office helping to organise the post so people could still continue to work.

“As the pandemic started to ease, I helped put safety measures in place for staff around the office for their safe return. It was then I moved into a Health and Safety / Facilities role.

“This is another job role that I love, which has helped me sail easily to 15 years with the company.

“Both the roles are completely different, but both roles share the same principle of supporting every staff member and department throughout Winn Group. Not many jobs allow for you to interact with nearly every staff member and department.”

Peter has been a constant for many people during their time at Winns, always willing to offer a helping hand, always willing to go above and beyond.

“I don’t feel like it’s just a job - this is my career. I came into Winns with very little qualifications, but they have supported me and invested in me from day one,” he continued.

“Why I love it here - I have completed multiple apprenticeships in team leading, and now I’ve almost completed another apprenticeship in Facilities Management.

“The company has provided me with H&S training and courses, so I’m now IOSH qualified. I’m a massive believer in personal development and growth, and Winns have been nothing but supportive in my development.”

Peter is one of a growing number of staff to pass the 15-year marker at Winns, highlighting an experience and expertise that continues to grow.

“For so many staff to reach 15-plus years and still be here is a testament to what the company is like to work for,” he continued.

“I have so many great memories working here, too many to mention. I have met and befriended some amazing people.

“I can’t imagine me working anywhere else #Winns4life.”

Janet McCrindle, Group Executive Assistant to CEO and Head of Office Management, said: “I remember Peter's first day: a fresh-faced, enthusiastic twenty-something, heading up the Post Team and always on the go.

“Peter progressed to the role of Health, Safety and Facilities Officer. No one knows the buildings quite like he does, and certainly no one has as many keys!

“I am sure everyone will join me in saying thank you, Peter, for all your years of support to the team, the buildings, and the business. Here's to many more years to come!”

Congratulations Peter on a well-deserved moment of recognition.
