Winn Solicitors staff Adam Robinson and Mick Davis took part in one of the region’s biggest sporting events on Sunday - the Great North Run.

The pair both completed the 13.1 mile run from Newcastle upon Tyne to South Shields in impressive time, with Adam finishing in 1:59 and Mick in 1:35.

Adam and Mick ran as part of the 100-strong Sunshine Fund team, which was sponsored by Winn Solicitors. The £1500 sponsorship donation from Winns enabled the team to have Sunshine Fund vests made up, to promote the charity throughout the event.

Mick and Adam also raised an impressive £498.42 which will go towards providing specialised equipment to children with disabilities in the North East of England.

When asked about the run, Adam said;

“The run went well, it was my first time running the GNR and I hit the target I had set myself. I was proud to take part in the Great North Run, I hadn’t realised just how big of an occasion it was. The atmosphere was amazing and the crowd really got behind the runners. I would recommend taking part and would definitely look to run again.”

Mick added;

”On what was a very hot day, I enjoyed my first ever Great North Run - so much so I will be back next year. There was an excellent atmosphere throughout the 13.1 miles, and a great turn out by the public. Let’s see if I can knock some time of next year's run, as I’m not getting any younger!”
