Holly Clegg from our Serious Injuries team organised a Christmas donation drive for Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter, on behalf of the firm.

Located in Benton, the Dog and Cat shelter was established in 1896 and helps thousands of lost, unwanted, neglected, abused and abandoned animals every year, including ex-battery chickens and farm animals.

As well as collecting in bedding, food, toys and treats, staff from both of our offices also raised money on Christmas Jumper Day in aid of the shelter. Tynemouth Coffee Company came to the Brinkburn Street office for the morning and made speciality coffees and hot chocolates free of charge, as a festive treat for all staff. All money donated to the Tynemouth Coffee staff was kindly donated to the cause, bringing our total to a fantastic £263.64!

Holly and Sophie Riordan, from the Marketing department, visited the shelter on Thursday 21st December to deliver the donations and have a tour of the site.

Holly said;

“It was very heart-warming to see how generous people were. I’m extremely pleased we were able to support such a hardworking local charity. The shelter were extremely grateful for all the donations and hopefully it will make life a bit easier for the animals before they find a new home.”
