National Apprenticeship Week: Meghan’s Moving Up

This week is National Apprenticeship Week and we’ve been talking to our apprentices, past and present, to see what they value about apprenticeships and working with Winns.

We talked to Meghan Alexandra who started as an apprentice in the post team and now works as a junior legal secretary. This is what she had to say.

How long have you been working at Winns?

I have been working at Winns since November 2016

Why did you choose Winns? What role did you start in?

I started working at Winns on an apprenticeship in the post team. I chose Winns for the opportunity to work within a professional environment and learn on the job as well as gain a qualification. Starting on an apprenticeship really allowed me to learn the ins and outs of the job. My job title now is junior assistant/junior legal secretary on the part 7 team.

What does your role involve?

My role involves being an assistant to 4 fee earners; helping them with their day-to-day tasks. This includes chasing documents, handling incoming posts and calls, writing letters to clients and handling customer service overflow.

What are your ambitions for the future?

I plan to continue at Winns and progress as much as I possibly can with my career.
