Anniversaries encourage people to reflect on successes and memorable moments during their career.
For Ron Evans-Brookes, who celebrated 15 years at Winns recently, it delivered a stark realisation.
“I just could not grasp how old I was now compared to when I started!” said the Network and Partnerships Manager.
Joining as a Business Development Executive back in 2011, Ron was tasked with building a repairer network as part of the Sales Team. In 2022, he moved to his current title. A career spent mainly on the road up and down the country can bring unique challenges, but Ron always enjoys times spent at Winn Group HQ.
He continued: “My first few days were in Newcastle picking up my company car and induction and I just felt at home straight away; the warmth and friendliness was unreal.
“In my current role, I have a lot more responsibility and it suits my skill set more than in my sales role previously. I feel complete in this role, within our business and the motor industry.
“As for the company, well it’s just been brilliant. I would not change a thing looking back, and the structure of the business is spot on with the size we have become today; nothing has changed within the people despite the size we are today.
“I have much more to help, offer and give to the business, and the North East has really in many ways become my home even though I am field based because of the role I do for the business - I enjoy everything about the place, the people, the attitude and the challenges!”
Michael Stuart, Department Head, said: “Fifteen years with Winns, 50 years in the industry; a remarkable achievement for a remarkable man!
“I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with Ron for my whole career at Winns. His knowledge and experience have been invaluable and has been even more so since joining me as Network & Partnership Manager.
“He can certainly talk the talk, quite a lot in fact, but it has been a pleasure to have been part of your journey - congratulations Ron!!”
As for the future, Ron is optimistic of the next steps.
He concluded: “The company is strong in our sector of the claims industry and as long as we keep improving efficiencies and client experiences, it will be fine.
“We can go further for sure from where we are now; we have a great board and senior management structure - the only way is still up from here for me.”
